Viwinco (founded in 1982) specializes in vinyl windows and doors and is based out of Morgantown, Pennsylvania. The company sells the following series: the Oceanview hurricane series, Edgemont, Cambridge, and S-Series. Generally, the company receives favorable reviews and provides good to great value for homeowners.

Andersen is the most widely know company and brand in the industry today. In fact, they have been in the industry over 100 years and have one of the best reputations you could ask for. They do not make vinyl windows, but instead make a composite series in the Andersen 100 fibrex window and wood clad windows in the 200, 400, and Architectural series. Andersen is perhaps the best known of all the wood clad window manufacturers in the window and door space.

Pennsylvania Replacement Windows
Bill, I’m from Pennsylvania and having been trying to get some affordable solutions for replacement windows. Initially, we were thinking about Viwinco, but now we are also considering Andersen fibrex windows. Also, we did heed your advice and looking into Okna, but they were 2x the price of Viwinco. Could you send me your list and let me know about what we have so far? Thanks so much!

Steve, I like all three brands that you have going so far. Okna is my favorite, but not at 2x – no way. Honestly, I think the Viwinco over the Andersen 100 series. Probably the better price point and equally good quality. Happy to send you my list, but I think you are on the right track for sure!
