Home Depot Window Replacement Reviews

Home Depot is the largest big box brand in the United States, with some 2000 stores across all 50 states. HD is, not surprisingly, one of the best known brands in the United States. The company sells everything under the sun for home improvement, including replacement windows and doors. Browse below to check out our Home Depot window replacement reviews.

Company Rating: 7.0 out of 10

Price Point: 7.5 out of 10

Bottom Line: HD was once quite reasonable in the price quotes. Since 2021, they have become less so. Maybe worth a bid if you live in an area where quality local bids are tough to find.

Home Depot Window Replacement Reviews

Home Depot sells a number of different window and door brands in their stores (and this will vary based on your location). Popular brands include Simonton, Andersen, Reliabilt, Silverline, and American Craftsman. To be honest, several of these brands are amongst our worst window brands on the market. However, several others are considered quality window and door brands.

Home Depot Warranty

I have to be honest and say that I don’t love how the window warranty is set up with Home Depot. Here is how it generally works.

Specifically, the HD warranty is going to come from two sources, neither of which is from Home Depot itself. First, the manufacturer’s warranty (on the windows and/or doors themselves) will come from the manufacturer – so Simonton, Reliabilt, Atrium, etc. Second, the labor warranty (insofar as one is included with the project quote) will come from the local company that HD subcontracts out with the do the installation itself.

Home Depot Window Rating

I give Home Depot replacement window a rating of 7.0 out of 10. They tend to sell some good (but not great brands), along with some not-so-great brands. To be sure, this makes sense as they are focused on do it yourselfers and more budget minded window projects.

Hi Bill, I am in Atlanta Ga and am looking to replace my windows. Specifically, I am looking for vinyl windows not very high point but affordable better window. I had quote for Provia ecolite windows for 18 windows with 4 picture windows for 13665. Just to be clear, this is installed prices.

Alside Mezzo for $15800
Home Depot (Simonton 6500 Series) $16900
Alside Fusion for $14500

Can you please guide me which way should I go. Conversely, should I go for other brand which is better?

[Site Editor’s Answer]

Chetan, I like the ProVia ecoLite bid. In addition, the fact that it’s the lowest bid makes me like it even more!
