Joyce windows may be one of the newer entrants in the vinyl window market, but the Joyce name has been a trusted one in the home improvement business since the 1950s. Joyce Manufacturing originally opened their doors (and windows!) in Ohio and was quickly recognized as a quality builder of aluminum sunrooms. The owners, brothers Albert and Gustav Schmidt, soon expanded their product line and began selling both aluminum awnings and railings.
Products From Joyce Windows
Joyce offers two main lines of vinyl windows – but within those lines, consumers have many window styles to choose from. The most popular styles of windows are double hung windows and sliding windows, but they offer others as well, including bay and bow windows, casement windows, hopper and awning windows, and garden windows. They also offer sliding patio doors as well as an assortment of specialty windows.
Insulator Windows
The Insulator line of replacement windows can be used in just about any home, and they live up to their name as an energy efficient window option (they have an R-35 efficiency rating). They are fusion-welded sash windows that come in either double hung or sliding styles. All windows include exterior glazing, insulated glass and weather stripped sashes, as well as a variety of other quality features that come standard, and consumers also have the option of upgrading other energy efficient and glass options. Double hung windows come with tilt-in sashes and slider windows come with swing-in sashes to make them easier to clean and maintain.
Heritage Windows
The Joyce Heritage window line is their newer line of vinyl windows and offers energy efficient features, as well as security features and design choices. Standard features of these windows include composite PVC reinforcement, tilt-in sashes and security features such as dual-cam locks, among others. These Joyce windows also offer an exclusive sealing system, known as the Magna-Seal, which maximizes energy efficient qualities of the windows by creating an air tight seal around the glass. Customers can also add energy efficient options such as low-e coatings, gas fills and upgraded glazing. Wood-look laminates can be selected for the interior of these windows as well.
PRIZM Color Selection
Both Insulator and Heritage replacement windows come in the standard colors of white and beige. These replacement windows also come in ten other exterior colors which are part of their signature PRIZM line of colors. Joyce’s PRIZM colors include an assortment of exterior acrylic coatings that have a lifetime warranty against rotting, peeling or chipping. Some coatings even increase energy efficiency due to their reflective properties, which reduce heat absorption. Joyce windows can be further customized by mixing and matching colors. The Heritage windows have the option of light oak or cherry interior laminates on the interior of the windows.
Energy Efficient Features
Low-e coatings, triple glazing, gas fills and an exclusive magnetic seal all help to make Joyce windows super energy efficient. Some energy efficient features come standard on all their windows and some are available as upgrades. This can qualify homeowners for a federal tax credit on their window purchase and installation. Joyce windows can also save homeowners money over the long term with reduced energy costs.
Joyce Window Warranty
Joyce replacement window warranty comes in two options of limited lifetime warranties, a silver and gold level – an indication of the confidence Joyce has in the quality of their window manufacturing. The silver level offers protection from any type of manufacturing defects for as long as the purchaser owns the windows. The gold level is an optional upgrade and offers transfership of the warranty to a new owner if the house is sold. It also provides a lifetime warranty on free glass replacement if the glass breaks.
