Zen Windows is based in Ohio and currently installs their windows and doors in 20 states – mostly in the mid west and north east regions of the United States. The company is NOT a manufacturer (like a Wincore Windows or a Simonton), but instead installs and services the windows. Scroll for our Zen Windows reviews.

Zen Windows Reviews
Zen Windows sells four series that they label the Karma, Nirvana, Lotus, and Lotus Plus. The Karma is the least expensive model, while the Lotus Plus is the most expensive model. However, consumer need to understand that these series are relabeled – meaning that the Karma are actually Soft-Lite Barrington windows (although some branches sell different windows under the same name). That can get a little confusing, so please make sure to always ask what you are actually purchasing.
In many of their branches, Zen sells and installs quality window brands. These include Soft-Lite, ProVia, Joyce windows, and FiberFrame. However, the brand they sell that I’m not super keen on is Alside (decent, but a step below these other options in my opinion).
Zen Windows Warranty
All in all, an impressive warranty. Zen offers a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, sash, hardware, and components. In addition, Zen will cover the cost of all labor to replace or repair the windows (in the case of manufacturing defects). The Zen window warranty can be transferred to another homeowner and apparently there is no time limit truncation (most warranties cap any transfer to like 20 years from the installation date).

Replacement Windows In Ohio
Bill,I was working with Zen of St. Louis. I had requested triple strength glass for double hung Provia Endure windows which would be 5mm/5mm, but Dennis decided that the window would be too heavy. Therefore, he won’t do the project (Provia will make the windows). Interestingly, there are even other Provia triple pane windows on the NFRC website that are 5mm/3mm/5mm. These would be 30% heavier so I don’t understand his position. Your thoughts on the weight of the 5mm/5mm windows?
One other thing that you may have some ideas on. After researching the Provia windows on the NFRC website I found a sliding and double hung windows that could like installed. Their window ratings (u-factor, SGHC, VT, condensation) are solid. However, the window dealers are unable to take all the information I provided from the NFRC website and identify a specific Provia window model that matches the NFRC label. Any ideas – btw, the zen windows reviews page was great so merci for that.

Brian, I know the ProVia Endure, but I don’t know it well enough to argue against a ProVia installer. They deal with their windows day in and day out. If this guy knows his stuff, I would defer to his judgement. As well, I agree that the Endure is sold as a triple pane all the time. I think that’s a curious position.
The ProVia Aspect is a less heavy series, but still quite good — maybe ask if he thinks the Aspect in the triple pane is a better option. Often, the dealers order with set parameters due to the location in which you live. They should be able to get close to what the nfrc label is – the company submitted to the nfrc with those parameters.
