Harvey Building Products, now owned by Lansing Building Products, is based out of Massachusetts and has been selling windows and doors since 1961. The company is probably best known for their vinyl windows — especially the Classic and Tribute vinyl window series. The company does sell a number of other options such as wood-clad, impact and storm windows and doors.

Harvey sells a number of series, including Slimline, Classic, Tribute, Majesty, Vigilance, and their Storm windows. Are Harvey Windows Any Good? Many industry insiders would say that Harvey makes a good quality vinyl window. They might not make my top tier vinyl window list, but a Harvey Classic vinyl window and a competitive price point is sure worth a look in my book.

Harvey Classic Windows Prices

We’re getting ready to replace 19 windows which are a bunch of double hungs, several sliders, and two casements. The price tag was almost exactly $19,000, which means they are charging us $1000 per window. Doesn’t that seem like a lot of money or are Harvey windows worth it? We are in near Norfolk Virginia.

Billie, I’d say that $1000 for the Harvey Classic is just about what I would expect in 2023. Prices have really jumped and unfortunately it’s kind of the going rate. The good news is that you can collect as many quotes as you want until you find a price point and window series that fits your budget. Question On The Tribute Series

My biggest factor is the noise quality reduction. I was spoiled from a large house living to downsized condo and frankly understanding the likelihood of noise problems was poor on my part. Never lived near a well-used road. Generally quiet at night but starts at 5 am, my.

I am meeting with Pella on the Pella Impervia fiberglass window. I also have a Harvey contact but their upper-tier window, the Harvey Tribute series, is a triple pane item. I’m wary of this. Not sure.

Edwin, if noise reduction is a big deal, then I would say opt for a top tier vinyl window — those low tolerances and exceptional build windows will do quite a bit to cut that noise — triple pane is also a way to kill outside noise. The biggest noise killer is what happens between the panes of glass — ask about ordering with glass offsets (different glass thicknesses between the two or three panes) — some companies do offer this — the different thicknesses deaden different frequencies of noise…

Classic Series Cost Question

Hi there. I have two vinyl window cost bids on 25 double hung replacements. The installers will remove my old storm windows and 24 window sashes, install the new windows, insulate between the windows and frame with fiberglass insulation, caulk the windows inside and out, and install transition stops and caulk. Here are my two bids.

Paradigm 8 Window Cost: $16,200.00
Harvey Classic Window Cost: $11,450

Brady, I think the Paradigm 8 window is probably a bit better than the Harvey Classic, but not by much. I would go with the Harvey Classic and save myself the $5K — I’m sure there are plenty of places to put that money to good use!

Harvey Classic Window Complaint

We had their Classic series installed over a year ago and already a bunch of them need adjustments and several still don’t properly work. It’s unclear if the fault is with the installation or the window itself. I called Harvey’s customer service but so far they have not helped.

In fact, the manager I spoke with was rude and basically told me that they don’t deal with consumers, only builders and contractors. The installers seem to have disappeared or at least haven’t returned our calls.

Harvey Window Option

I would say Harvey is a decent mid range vinyl manufacturer. Also, I’d say that their lower end vinyl windows are not very good, especially in the past. I think their Classic (step up from the Slimline) and Tributes (their high-end) are quite nice looking and have a good glass package. The triple pane Tribute has great performance numbers and is an all around good window. They are good about handling issues from their independent contractors here in the NE states.

Harvey vs Okan

Harvey windows aren’t bad, but both Okna and Gorell make a better product. In fact, Harvey produces a fairly generic window line – nothing special or particularly bad about the extrusions and glass package. Personally, I would put Okna at the top of the food chain in terms of quality products and service – and Gorell would be up there, maybe not quite as high.

Of course, quality comes at a price. The Harveys at a good price with quality installation is a good combination that makes sense to me. I’ve advice you to go out and read more consumer Harvey windows prices and quotes.

Not A Fan Of Harvey Windows

First off, I thought that the windows seals had a 20 year warranty, but found out that it’s only 10 years. Later, I found this out because we have failed seals on 10 of 14 windows and now we have fogging and condensation between the panes of glass. Not a fan of Harvey.

Harvey Windows vs Simonton

I live in Massachusetts and know a ton of installers who are familiar with Harvey replacements and new construction brands. This is a nice plus because you can interview 3 or 4 installers and pick who you get the best vibe from and seems to have experience with your particular project requirements. Having said that, I didn’t use the company for my home, mainly because they didn’t have exactly what I needed and I opted for better quality, higher priced windows.

The Harvey Tribute is their top-of-the-line window, but I don’t love its somewhat bulky frame. The Classic has more glass exposure than the Tribute. So, I would put the Tribute on par with Simonton’s 5500 in terms of price and quality. In addition, I’d definitely like the look of Harvey vinyl windows over the Simonton, although I believe the lead time is a lot longer with the Harvey. Personally, I would have a hard time choosing between these windows.
