Sun Windows Reviews
The company makes and sells 4 series – these include the 2020 and 57 (both vinyl), Patriot (an aluminum clad vinyl) and the USA (aluminum clad wood). Sun Windows manufactures doors as well – including sliding patio door, hinged swing doors folding doors.
Sun Window Warranty
It is pretty typical for companies to offer unique warranty terms for their separate window series, especially if the frame material is different. (Compare replacement window warranties here.) The same is true of Sun, although their two vinyl windows do carry the same warranty terms and details. They are as follows lifetime lifetime warranty for the frame and sash, 5 years on hardware, 10 years for the IGU (insulated glass unit), and 1 year on components. The Sun warranty may be transferred to a second owner. There is no labor cost coverage from the manufacturer (you will hopefully get this through the installer).
Texas Replacement Windows
Currently, I am based in Texas and used to be a Pella dealer, but now concentrate on Sun Windows. I sold the Pella windows for over ten years, but Sun really stood out with their extruded sashes and frames made from aluminum. I also like their twenty years warranty and my customers are always thrilled with the final results. Yes, Pella also rolled their aluminum sashes, but I found they would damage easily and couldn’t withstand a basic hail storm, Pella also only offered a ten year warranty on many of their windows, which isn’t good enough in my personal opinion.
Sun offer a range of glass options and this includes triple glazing. For those in Kentucky you can deal with them directly at the factory, this gives you a chance to see the windows for yourself and have a look around, see how the windows are made and learn more about their processes and performance numbers.
