We had our replacement windows installed by Clear Choice Windows in South Bend, Indiana. We had a few estimates from local companies but Clear Choice provided the best value for the cost.

They quoted us $430 per triple-pane double-hung window – specifically the Clear Choice Signature Series Window. I found the window to be very high quality and it included a lifetime warranty. The installation itself was great.

Our home is much quieter and the we can cool the house down in about half the time as before.

So here was what we paid: $5,590 for 13 Clear Choice Signature Series, Double Hung, Triple Pane with an R-7 rating. With the $1500 tax credit, we thought we made a very good investment.

Curious to see how this compares with other people’s experience.

We had 10 double hung windows installed by Feldco Windows – cost $6,300. Everything was going fine until the actual installation when the installer told me that they didn’t need to insulate this type of replacement window – they just put the window in the opening and put caulk and trim.

My neighbors have the EXACT same window from the EXACT same company and they definitely insulated the window. The company refused to come back out properly install them and I had to hire someone to replace remove the caulk and trim, insulate and then replace the trim and caulk. This add $25 per window, which makes me made, especially since they charged me $630 per window.
